Let the 2008 Holiday season begin

Let the 2008 Holiday season begin

Are you in the process of getting ready for this year’s Holiday parties at your house? Got some major cleaning to do before family comes for their annual visit?

We all know the drill. Our eyes seem to get a bit sharper this time of year, if family is coming in for a holiday visit or we’ve got a big party planned. We seem to notice carpet stains that were “just not there before”, or hand prints on the door molding that we’ve looked past a hundred times, but not really “seen.”

Maybe the finish on the laminated flooring in the kitchen has lost a bit of its luster or the windows are just all smudgy (is that even a word?).

We’ve all been there

It’s two hours before ‘everybody that’s anybody’ is coming over. It’s the big Christmas party. You’ve shined everything that can take a shining, and you’ve scrubbed and washed and laundered and scraped and … well, you get the picture.

The tree is perfect, the walls and tablecloths and food is incredible, and all your planning has paid off.

In comes your ________ (insert husband, wife, kid, dog, bird, whatever) and is having a last-minute chat to make sure all the bases are covered. ________(He, She, They, It, etc) is doing great - being responsible and proactive, and really taking part this year.

The only problem is the drink (or, maybe the lollipop, or sucker, or worm) that is in __________’s hand. You’re a little nervous, watching that hand like a hawk.

Then it happens. A turn, a little off-balance move, and BOOM … there is a big spot on the tablecloth with less than two hours to go before the first arrivals. What are you going to do? There is no way that stain is coming off and you don’t have time to wash and dry it.

There is a solution

Then, you remember. Somebody told you about a product that is “real good” for times like this and you made sure you got some of it for yourself.

You mixed it with water according to the directions on the brochure and you also took the extra step of marking the spray bottle with a permanent marker as a reminder. You placed it in the top cabinet above the washer and dryer.

So, you go get it, come back and spray it on the tablecloth. It doesn’t come right off at first, but you spray it a few more times and dab at it with a soft terry cloth from the drawer. The stain eventually goes away with a little more work. You can’t believe that actually worked!

In the meantime, though, you notice that there is a smudge on the microwave window, so you spray some cleaner on and wipe it off. “This stuff if pretty amazing, isn’t it?”, you say out loud.

Well, the stain eventually dries, anybody and everybody shows up, and the party goes off without a hitch. You avoided a situation that could have gotten a little ugly, because you thought and planned ahead. Part of that planning was purchasing a bottle of Immacu-10 in advance and making sure you were prepared to use it, just in case.

Is this story real?

It may be. I’m not sure. That type of thing has happened to me, though, and I have spoken with several customers who have had similar situations, including one at a wedding rehearsal dinner who sat in something in a chair, that someone else had spilled .

The point is unmistakable. Being prepared is usually always better than being unprepared. We can’t always be ready for every single eventuality that may occur, but we can always strive to do our best and make preparations for whatever may come up.

And, we can always choose to be thankful for all the things that occur in our life. There is usually some kind of good that comes from the situations we face. It may take years to realize the good, or to accept the good, but we can always make the choice to view the positive in the events of our lives, and strive to make them good.

This Thanksgiving season, join with me in being thankful for all that you are blessed with. You may have to look harder this year than in other years, but you can find it. Make the choice and be thankful no matter what. And, try to make something good happen for those around you, if at all possible.

First Blog Post

Welcome to my first blog post on the Immacu-10 blog!

The transition has been made, from the old HTML-based site to this new WordPress site. I have done blogging before, using GoDaddy’s built-in blog feature and Blogger.com’s software, and have played around with a WordPress blog for a hobby effort. However, I have not tried using WordPress as a combination Content Management System (CMS) combined with a blog before, and I hope some good things come from this effort.

Please, if you see any glaring mistakes, I may have looked over it sixteen times before and have not “seen” the error. I would appreciate hearing about it and will try to get it fixed soon. Email me using the address below.

Thanks for visiting the site. Immacu-10 is an awesome all-purpose cleaner and many more people can benefit from knowing about it, and using it. Please help me spread the word.
